AL. on side of font, 2 5/8 in. tall to the top of the lid, 1 3/4 in. base dia., 3 3/8 in. spout, tip of spout has rectangular opening 7/8 x 1/2 in., unusual breather hole in lid unlike any other known aluminum oilwick lamp, iron hook, one of two known examples, ex-John Podgurski collection (This rare lamp is another of the cast aluminum oilwick lamps that include the more common Pat. Apd. For. marking as well as the rare NOMELT, match striker on font, and indestructible lamps.  The rectangular opening of the spout tip and the unusual breather hole on the lid are unique to the aluminum lamps.  The patent marking of PAT. AL. is thought to refer to the patent date of July 27, 1909 for patent #929,423 issued to Scott Hammond of Freeport, Stephenson County, Illinois, little is known about Hammond or the maker of the lamp.)
